沖縄・今帰仁村別荘project Okinawa, Nakijin Village Vacation Home Project

Set amidst the rich natural environment of Nakijin Village in Okinawa, we designed a residence that blurs the boundaries between the exterior and interior, allowing residents to experience nature through all five senses.
While high walls shield the building from outside views, the interior features a circulating water basin and a waterfall, creating an environment woven from light, wind, and water.

The ripples on the water’s surface and the sound of falling water soften the intense Okinawan sunlight, creating a composition that brings a quiet flow of time to the entire space.

In addition, sliding walls with traditional Japanese latticework were installed at the openings to control direct sunlight while allowing a moderate flow of breeze and views.
By opening and closing these walls according to the time of day and the situation, the relationship with the external environment can be adjusted, creating a resort-like space where the indoors and outdoors flow seamlessly together.

This project proposes a new concept for vacation homes that blends urban comfort with Okinawa’s pristine natural landscape, creating a space where tranquility and openness coexist.
