Casa of Setouchi Casa of Setouchi

“Casa Of Setouchi” is a project planned for a site nestled between the calm waters of the Seto Inland Sea and the lush mountain ranges of Mihara and Sunami.

Our goal was to create a mixed-use building that serves as “architecture for living,” where nature and urban functions gently intertwine.
This space brings together a café open to the community, a dining area where visitors can enjoy fresh seafood caught in the Seto Inland Sea, a gym to maintain physical well-being, offices that foster creativity, long-term rental residences, and living quarters for the property owner.

The exterior features a rough, powerful concrete texture as its foundation, while the long, narrow profiled glass panels control the soft natural light.
The play of light and shadow, which changes with the time of day and the seasons, lends the building a quiet sense of depth.

At the heart of the building lies a sky garden that opens up to the sky.
It channels the sea breeze, the presence of the mountains, and the shifting light of the day into the building’s interior, creating a sense of continuity with nature within an urban setting.

On the top floor, we have designed a rooftop terrace offering panoramic views of the Seto Inland Sea.
Our goal was to create a space where people can enjoy both the mountain and ocean views while spending time together at their own preferred distance.

Accepting the local way of life while offering visitors a space to escape the ordinary.
“Casa Of Setouchi” is a new vision for lifestyle design that resonates with the spirit of the Seto Inland Sea.
